Beginning adventures in storytelling

This weekend was a most fabulous one – my wonderful husband had bought me a present of a weekend’s Storytelling course with the School of Storytelling.

I have been interested in storytelling for a really long time, but seeing the Pop Up Festival at the High House Production Park really inspired me to find out more. And so I googled and found this course – Begin it Now!

It was set in the beautiful grounds of Emmerson College, and the weather was so delightful too.

The course was extremely well run and taught, by Roi, and he taught us the basics of storytelling, not least how to remember the stories! I came away from the the event knowing one story well and three more that I can do some work on to remember them well myself.

When I came home I was really sad that it was all over, I loved being in such a supportive and creative environment. It was a wonderful experience.

I hope to continue to do storytelling, and start going to storytelling events in the area.

Maybe one day I can become a professional storyteller and I could be at the wonderful Pop Up Festival, which gave me the inspiration to do this. By the way if you missed the Thurrock festival, there is another chance to see them at Swiss Cottage, London on the 12th-13th July.
